What is it you like most about Halloween? Many people enjoy getting dressed up in costume (I was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle last year – just try and beat that!), while others like the lore than comes with the spooky day. For me, the best part is the treats! Trick-or-treating is nothing without the latter, don’t you think? Here are 3 of my favorite treats that everyone should be snacking on this October in Dallas:

Sam’s Day is an event started by one of your neighbors in North Texas. Mr. John Killian sought the opportunity to raise awareness (and hopefully funds!) in order to find a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. His son, Sam, suffers from this ailment, and his wonderful dad doesn’t want to see any other children have to go through this.
Well, since 2005, Killian with the support of Dallas-Fort Worth has raised over $250,000 for this cause, and everyone is looking to raise even more this year. The more support we show for Sam’s Day, the closer we get to finding a cure! Here are the details you need to know for Sam’s Day 2010:
When: Next Saturday, October 30th 11AM - 5PM
Where: CenterPark at NorthPark Center - try carpooling with some of your Toscana neighbors and save money on gas!
Why: Well, there are several reasons why! You can join the fight against DMD, and have a great time with your friends and family at this wonderful event in North Texas. Why not is the question you should be asking!
Save the date for Sam’s Day 2010 - will you be there?
There has been a lot of talk about what to do this holiday season. Some people want to go ice skating, my parents definitely want to see my apartment, but I feel like there has got to be a lot more to do! Then I remembered an activity we used to do when I was much younger that I’ve decided to revive: caroling!

Whether you’re a crooner like Michael Bublé, or you’re tone deaf, this could be something really fun to try with friends, family, even your neighbors at Toscana! Would you consider going caroling this holiday?
Happy holidays everyone! Enjoy it.
You New Year’s celebration at home or around Dallas may be planned, but what do you have prepared for the new year itself? Many people have created their list of resolutions, but it can often prove to be difficult to keep them. Here’s a little clue as to how you can keep your resolutions for 2011:

Talk to your friends and family to get support to keep to the resolutions. Gather together your neighbors at Toscana and make everyone commit to one big goal. There are several ways to keep to them in 2011, just make sure you stay dedicated!
Happy New Year - see you in 2011!
