This past week MTV has decided to drop the “music television” from their official logo, confirming what most people have thought for some time now: the channel has abandoned it’s original purpose to pursue being a complete reality channel.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t really blame them. With the success of over 20 season of “Real World,” and the channel’s newest sensation, “Jersey Shore,” executives probably see no sense in keeping up with the music aspect. Total Request Live (TRL) ended a couple years ago, and the channel hasn’t had a strong music-based show since.
In memory of what once was, TIME magazine has put together a video of the Top 10 MTV moments. Of course included in this is “Video Killed the Radio Star,” the first video to ever air on MTV.
Is there anything left out you think should’ve made the cut?
I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well. ~Diane Ackerman
Things can get very stressful during the week. Don’t let it get on top of you. As we go through our lives it can be hard to remember to live our life. So with that said…go on & live!
I was looking for some free cereal samples a few days ago (Kashi always seems to be giving away food!) when I stumbled across an article with tips on finding internet freebies.
The article by Donna Freedman introduced me to a site I’ll soon be bookmarking: CheapToday.com. The site has a section dedicated just to reporting what freebies consumers can get today. Everyday you check back you can find something new - how cool!

Another good piece of advice Donna provides is how not to get ripped off. People tend to get a little excited when they see an offer for something free that they fail to notice they’re being had. You should be okay accepting a free offer if:
The Tonight Show will once again be hosted by Jay Leno. My question is…will anybody be watching?
Now that (some of) the tension had died down, especially with the Winter Olympics being a distraction, Leno is set to premiere his second attempt of The Tonight Show this upcoming Monday, and the guests for the first week have just been announced. Actor Jamie Foxx will the first guest for the premiere on Monday. later in the week we will see the likes of Sarah Palin, Morgan Freeman, and a handful of Winter Olympians.
I may watch, that is if I remember that it starts next week. Now that I think about it, I haven’t seen any promos about any of this! Have you?
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno premieres March 1st at 11:35 EST.
If you’re been trying to figure out how to get your Conan fix after he ended his 7-month run on The Tonight Show, worry no more; Mr. O’Brien has now given in the the social media peer pressure & got himself a Twitter account.
Conan only established his account yesterday and has already accumulated over 250,000 followers (I think I was number 195,000ish, not that you were wondering). His first tweet, posted yesterday afternoon, has already convinced me to visit for a good laugh everyday:
“Today I interviewed a squirrel in my backyard and then threw to commercial. Somebody help me.”
